Dr. iur. Jürg Wissmann is mainly active in corporate law, contract law as well as banking law and in giving legal support in asset management. He advises on the structuring of corporations, trusts and foundations and consults for fiduciary operations. He has a particular interest in estate planning, inheritance law and wills as well as providing international legal assistance in criminal law. Based on his experience in his earlier career in the field of construction law and city planning, he can give advice also in these fields.
Dr. Wissmann was born and grew up in St. Gallenkappel / SG. He studied law in French (lic. en droit 1978) in Lausanne. After obtaining his Bar admission in St.Gallen, he was employed in the legal department of the Ministry for Public Works of the canton of St.Gallen. During this time, he wrote his thesis on the subject of the procedural steps in city planning. He later worked for more than 13 years as head of legal, compliance and trust of a Private Bank in Zurich. In 2001, he joined the law firm Stauffacher & Partner. After some time, the partners decided that each partner should operate under his/her own name, whilst continuing to co-operate. Today, he is the last remaining member of the former team, but in the meantime with a growing number of new partners.
Dr. Wissmann is married and has four grown-up children.
